A development component for capturing audio & video data from a DeckLink board.
Overview
- DLL Name: MGDeckLinkPXT.dll
MediaLooks DeckLink Source is a development component designed to ingest data from a DeckLink board.
DeckLink Source is easier to use than DirectShow filters and can be used within any COM-enabled development environment.
DeckLink Source is available as part of the DeckLink SDK or the Multimedia SDK.
Possible Uses
- Video logging application with seamless switching between files upon reaching a certain size or other trigger.
- Real-time video editing application with input from one DeckLink board and output to another (see our Vision Mixer SDK).

Features
- Use several boards at a time and configure them independently.
- Easily select boards, inputs, outputs (YCbCr, SDI, etc.) and formats.
- Manage external devices via RS-422.
- Third-party DirectShow transform filters can be used as plugins (see IMGPlugins interface).
MultiGraph Features
- Start/stop capture without stopping preview.
- Seamless (without black flash or delay) switching between receivers (i.e. downstream components).
- Several receivers for one input simultaneously (for instance, data from one input board can be written to file, previewed and, at the same time, be output to another board via DeckLink Sink).
