DirectShow filter for video logging with seamless file switching.
[edit] Overview
MediaLooks 24/7 Capture (formerly MuxSwitcher) is the implementation of our MultiGraph Technology, which was designed for seamless switching between files while capturing large amounts of video data.
Using the standard scheme with the following sequence of filters: CaptureFilter -> Encoder -> FileWriter, would loose frames when switching to a new file, because filename can be changed on the FileWriter only when graph is in STOP state. Stopping and starting the graph again takes from 500 to 2,000 ms - hence, frames will be lost. Starting the capture graph takes a time about 500-2000ms.
MuxSwitcher uses 3 graphs: one Source Graph and 2 Capture Graphs.
Note: This filter was developed in cooperation with Mpegcode.com.
